The Stories that Matter

Since the dawn of human history, stories have provided the means to preserve, hopefully for posterity, our collective human experience. Through oral tales passed down from generation to generation, magnificent paintings and hieroglyphs on the walls of Ancient Egyptian tombs, written epics of love and tragedy from Homer to Shakespeare, and the movies, photographs, songs and blogs of the modern age, the human species has told stories in various mediums that have constantly expanded and evolved over time.

Telling stories reflect the fundamental human urge to share our own experiences with the rest of the world. Stories allow us to connect, to empathize with others and to find meaning in the one-way ticket journey that we all partake in called life. As our world becomes ever more interconnected across cultures and societies in this day and age of globalization and digitization, I believe stories remain as essential as ever in preserving our past, sharing our present and guiding us towards our future. In this blog, I share my reflections on the stories that matter to me most through the journals and photographs of my travels and encounters with diverse cultures, the commentaries on the cultural works whose stories have made an impact on me, and finally, the everyday experiences that make life, well, life. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and please feel free to share your stories in the comment sections of my blog!
